Angry Save the Bunker

NBS'rs,

Here's a chance to reduce bunker reduction. Please take the time to peruse the following links and take action by emailing your representative. Thanks in advance. Copy and paste the letter below to your local State Rep.

Article regarding HR3840 and 3841

Here is the proposing representatives stance;

Congressman Wayne Gilchrest - Serving Maryland's First District

The following text was sent to my representative by using this link;

A list of elected reps by state

Dear Representative DeLauro ,

I am writing you in hopes of you supporting HR3840, and 3841, The Atlantic Menhaden conservation bills.

I am a recreational fisherman and boater living in Branford, CT. As a fisherman and one who spends a great deal of time on the water, I understand the need for cleaner water and healthy fish stocks. I feel that this bill will help in our nations struggle to achieve both of these things.

Many different species depend on menhaden (commonly known as Bunker) as a primary part of their diet. Menhaden are filter feeders and are able to help remove
sunlight blocking algae that diminish our bays and estuaries abilities to produce healthy shellfish.

I feel that if this bill is passed, it's benefits will far outweigh any financial considerations of the few that currently profit marginally from the reduction industry.

Thank you,
Joseph Lynch
