| No, it was in Simsbury (I am in Canton) near the Granby border, only a few miles from me. No missing pets I know of yet, however, if that cat is prowling around there will be. |

| Wild Photos I don't think it would be legal to shoot a mountain lion in CT (did not have time to check the regulations). Of course since its looking in the door it might very well be a good defense and help prove the debate about if they are coming back to the Northeast. As for pets, with the coyote population being what it is, letting pets outside is a bit of a risk. I have a 20 pound dog and he does not run around the yard anymore (not since I watch the coyotes come through the back yard in the early morning) - and I live in a more suburban area (not rural). Of course, mountain lions can prey on humans so its a bit different than a coyote (but I welcome them back). Discovery Channel has had some interesting stories about mountain lions and people (as prey). I THINK we have enough deer around that the mountain lions will avoid snatching people. Jack |
