| I've got a '97' 4wd tacoma. Hopefully I don't have the problem! It's got under 66k original miles and I just love this truck. Would hate to get rid of it. Did you dealer contact you for an inspection or did you just call a dealer and schedule it to be looked at? Thanks........I think....

They said they would notify owners but if the truck has been sold two or three times may not find you . Call any toyota dealer for a free inspection takes about one hour. Here is the link Click here: TOYOTA OPEN ROAD BLOG: Living Up to Our Commitment#more | ||

| Thanks. I'm hoping mine is okay. One time owner and just love it. With only 65 k miles on it, it should last me another 11 years easy. Because I'm retired and only put on a few miles a day, after 20 years it might turn 80k miles. Has anyone started buying them up at mid retail and then turn them into the dealer for a profit yet? I expect to see them on ebay LOL. Thanks again for the info.

| Hey Bob, how's the non smoking thing going? I haven't had such good luck with that, it seems that it's easier to smoke than to find places to bury the folks that fall victim to my random fits of rage and ever dwindling patience. seriously bro, we all need to quit and I for one am proud of you keep up the good work. I wish that jeep would buy back my wrangler....2001 with 100000 on it, lives on the beach....kinder rusty..... | ||

Maggie says I'm cranky sometimes and I said....well maybe I shouldn't type that here. Quitting together with someone else seems to make it much more bearable. When one of us weakens the other is there to boost them up. I'm not going to say there aren't times when we wish we had a smoke but so far have resisted. We never smoked in the house and one of our grandkids, age 5, locked me out of the house last time I smoked when he was here. LOL If you can do it, DO IT! We feel better, can breath, smell and taste again too! Knock on wood , we're still good.

| Hey Bob, Be careful with your truck! My buddy has a '98 and I just talked to him about this yesterday. He inspected his himself on a lift and found severe frame rot at one of the front spring hangars or supports. VERY dangerous. He's dumping his. He also has VERY low miles, it apparently has nothing do with the miles you drive. In fact, less miles means things rust quicker. Been happening to my 'Burb since I bought my Yaris and don't drive the truck much anymore. Also keep in mind, if you do keep it, resale if you have to dump it before it dies. People will be very wary of buying a used Tacoma in this age range now.
