| Bunk I recently purchased a new aluminum venture trailer. I am tickled with it but I am getting used to bunk setup as my old load rite had rollers. Where I used to run my 22 mako right up on the rollers i now find it seems to be harder to keep the boat straight onto the bunks. Do i need to widen the distance between the bunks? Should they be set equal height or higher or lower front to back? Should i install those pvc guides at the back of the trailer? or should I just practice and redefine my onto the trailer style? Thanks for the help and the sarcasism! ![]() |

| I have the same trailer. If I recall my bunks are set wide and I believe are equal height. I will double check that when the snow melts. I dont trailer often because i have a slip. I do drive right up on the trailer. It sits perfect everytime. I have a 24ft sportcraft walk. its a big 24 due to the bracket. LOA is 28ft. I hoped I help a little.

| I measured the bunk height this morning. they are 7 1/2 inches in the front and 8 inches in the back. I hope this helps. I also took a couple of pictures of where it sits

| I use bunks, I think they are way better for your hull than rollers, and much easier to use. Yes install PVC, but that will not take care of the centering issue alone, it just makes it easier to get the boat guided on and stuck the first time up in wind, and helps backing down with visibility as well. The back and front rollers are for deeper hulled vessels to avoid scraping the hill bottom on steeper ramps, or in front to deal with same issue.... Adjust the width on your boards on your venture trailer, to make them wider. Unless your hull is really warped or something, they should be moved in identical increments out, until you find the right spot(go with reasonable guess to start, and then small adjustments...... Once you do that, you will be flying in and out of the water right on center line everytime, putting way less stress on hull points, as the weight is distributed evenly on both sides of the keel..... I took me 4 quick hauls to get it right on my Venture, but I drive my 20 skiff right up the trailer, sometimes holding it there on bad tides/ramp with the engines if I have help....much better than the rollers IMHO.
