Sashimi,

I made a livewel out of a 55 gallon bait barrel. I will post a picture of it for you tommorrow when I pull it out of my shop.

Basically I drilled two holes and fitted male hose fittings in each, siliconed em in. ran the pick up through one with hose attached to L-bracket and bilge pump. Fit nicely into the stern corner. The top hose I just ran out over the side when I was not under way, or had a neat fitting that I built out of pvc......

The fitting I clamped right to bilge pump which I installed suction cups to(same one) and place in bottom of barrel after removing pickup hose. The fitting itself comes up to top of barrel, lid fits right over it. Use outflow hose to reattach to old entry hole, and voila, recirculating bait well for when under way.

The fitting I drilled holes on the cross bar at angles, to really get good circulation when under way.

This well holds up to 15 bunker pretty well all day, plus the round shape and dark color seems to help.

I will post the pics tommorrow when I can......

Here is a place that sells direct on the internet:

All you need is a drain line on top and a feed line in the bottom to a raw-water pump.

B2 the prices are way to high for that product.
We sold that product until last year when they banned herring.
the KA1100 30 gallon tank and pump system we sold for $145.
If you want one let me know. I'll see if my dist still carries them.

Piker friendly baitwell

How about a baitwell you could make for under $40.00 with a bit of searching.

Get yourself a barrel from your local fishing pier, guys always have a few extra with lids for a 10 spot or so......

I even put a 12 volt plug with wiring into this one, for recirculating when under way. Just pop the tube off the bilge, and attach it to the bracket(not pictured, under shrink wrap) for straight raw water pickup, or plum it into existing livewell feed if you have it.

I had a home made one in my last boat but this Whaler is too pretty for that

I have access to an infinite amount of 55 gallon plastic drums. At last count I had 20 of them and I can get more just for the asking..... All food grade. They contained fructose and get tossed by a previous employer. White and blue...
