Custom Trailer

I am having Loadmaster build me a custom bunk trailer for my 02' Grady 282 Sailfish. Its Galvinized, with all stainless fitttings, three axel, disk breaks and led lights. I added a 18x18x36" toolbox, 5' guide ons and a power winch. This is a one shot deal and I want to do it right, I will be pulling this beast from NY to Key West. If you were going to build your dream trailer, what options would you add???

Thanks ahead of time for any comments/suggestions.
Ken

I don't see it on your list, but I'd add a spare tire and mount for it.

Spares

Thanks Bob. I forgot to mention that. My last blowout took two tires out, so I have added two spare tires and mounts to this trailer. I also have invested in two 18" tall bottle jacks that can be opperated by hand or air compressor. I have a small air compressor in the box on the truck.

Ken - I would add a freshwater tank with a high pressure pump for a quick washdown at the ramp. Less clean-up after the long tow home. Also, probably a good idea to flush the engines while they're still warm and rinse the salt off the trailer parts that need it the most. My 2 cents.

Hay Bob, where ya been? Thats a great idea, although I am not sure on where all of that "stuff" would go. That may be a porta option for the truck. You'll be glad to know that I am going give in and get a cap this fall...

I would add a driver/partner for that long drive to Key West. I just might know somebody.

C-Lure Bob; Do you have any idea how much water that would be? I can put another box on the side (18x18x36") that matches the current box, bit I am not sure how much water that would be...? Ya think 10 to 15 Gal would be enough.

some quick math.....

your box is 1.5x1.5x3.0 feet
1.5 x 1.5 x 3.0 = 6.75 cubic feet

1 cubic foot of water is equal to 7.481 gallons.

6.75 (cubic feet) x 7.481 (gallons) = 50.49675 gallons in a box with inside dimensions that size. So you're looking at roughly 50 gallons ...
OR....
another formula is Length (in inches) x Width (in inches) x Height (in inches) / 231
.....

...note : your mileage may vary ;)
