| Thanks. You should have seen the test phase...LOL. I walked around Boaters World with various compasses and ran them around all the other electronics looking for ill effects. Found one with little to no variation even when transmitting on the VHF...then it was off to start laying out drilling cutting. I have very little room on this console so space was critical. Ended up making a cardboard box with electronics panel ..... tweaked, tweaked and tweaked some more. Then when it all fit made it out of seaboard(similar to starboard but less expensive). After a season on the water with it, we're pretty happy. It doesn't lock but the panel is actually 2" larger than the opening it sits in. Need to get into the cc to open it up. All the work did pay off this fall when removing it....5 minutes and done till spring.

| While I do understand the logic......it's simply not practical for my install. I did "consider" installing a Goldenrod in the electronics box......guess time will tell..
