Livewell ideas

Hey all,

I have an older 1977 Formula center console. From the factory the boat has a livewell glassed into the deck. There is a drain at the bottom which goes into the bilge. I'm planning to use a macerator for draining the well.

I'd like to add a fill valve by splitting my washdown pump water. The top of the livewell is just about at the waterline. I'd want to add in a overflow drain so I can keep a steady supply of fresh water circulating in the well. Problem is the waterline. I wanted to see if anyone has a similar setup and has found a good solution for allowing overflow. I'd want to avoid having a overflow pump switched on all the time.

I've thought of making a closed container with a float and pump that will activate only when the well has water flowing through. The issue here is space.

Thanks in advance for your input.
