I thought I would share with everyone here a announcement from Furuno for a major price increase. This will be effective April 21st. If you had your eye on some of these products don't wait too long...

Furuno Provides One Month Notice Of April
21st Price Increase
Each morning, it seems we're waking up to more unpleasant news
surrounding the general economy, both here at home, as well as abroad.
While all of us are affected in some way by today's economic issues,
Furuno USA is currently being impacted by an additional, specific
challenge, which is the currency exchange rate between the U.S. Dollar
and the Japanese Yen. Today, the U.S. Dollar sits at its weakest position
against the Japanese Yen in over 12 years!
While Furuno USA, along with our parent company in Japan, makes every
effort to protect against currency fluctuations, the recent, significant
depreciation of the U.S. Dollar is something that we can no longer ignore
or avoid. As a result, we have no option but to increase prices for a
number of products within the Furuno line.
While this price increase affects a broad range of Furuno products, it is
important to note that we've worked diligently to avoid adversely
impacting several of our key products. We're pleased to report that our
NavNet series, both vx2 and the all-new NavNet 3D, will not be impacted
by a price increase at this time. However, since this is our first major price
change in more than 3 years, we ask you to take notice that a number of
Furuno products are being impacted.
