Outriggers

Looking to install some outriggers on a 20' center console to pursue the BFT this summer. Can anyone shed some light on the subject? Are there any advantages to gunnel mount vs something mounted on my t-top? I'd like to do the install myself but am open to considerations.

My opinion Gunnel mount are less $$, will give you less options of positions. If you dont have a Ttop or arch they are your only choice. Personaly if you have an arch or Ttop and can swing the coin i would go with the top mounted. Up and out of the way, you have a choice of the types of mounts you can get.. More $$ but worth it in my book..

spend the $$

The only way to go would be the t-top, IMHO, as stated, way more versatile and user friendly.

There are two new guys posting here in this thread, so welcome. Be sure to check out the offer I have running at the top of the home page!

Hotreels,

We did just thought I'd get some more feedback before making a purchase. I was hoping you would be putting yours on in the spring so I could watch.

My center console came with Gunnel mounts. While they work I plan to change them to the top mounted. They just get in the way. Imagine getting a big fish on only to loose it cuz of a broken line from hitting the outrigger.

By the way I sell those too
