parker owners.....

i'm seriously concidering upgrading my 23 w/a to a 2520 parker.
after concidering carolina classic 28 & similar express style cruisers i believe the parker will suit me best. already done the twin screw larger pleasure cruisers, i no longer want to "live for the boat".
i want economy, the ability to trailer it home, all round fishability, while keeping marina fees to a minimum. flushing head w/macerator required by the "admiral".
as an avid fisherman i am out often with guests, family, charter & personal friends.
primarily inshore but i do want offshore capability!
one point i want opinions on is the deep-V vs modified-V. while comfort is an issue inshore with family, does the modified-V perform in rough water?
my current w/a is a great boat but the 14* deadrise makes her pound in headseas making for a slow & wet ride. will the deep-V be stable while drift fishing or on anchor?
i'm thinking this may be my last boat (lol) so i want to get it right!
thanks........mick

You may need a wide-load permit to trailer as the 2520, I believe, has a 9'6" beam and no permit towing tops out at 8'6".

I second Classic Parker and the Parker brand.

I have never been on a MV but my 2530 is a deep vee. I had a Whitewater (24 degree deadrise) boat before my Parker with a 21 degree deadrise. They are totally different animals but the Parker affords alot more amenities than the Whitewater. In my opinion I would stay with the deep vee if you want offshore capabilities.

I'm hoping to have the 2530 back in the water by April, let me know if you want to check it out or if you have any questions. There are a few good deals on Classic Parker if you don't mind buying used.

Bryan

Do you keep your boat in Westbrook? Do you have to go under the Rt 1 bridge?

Yes, I have to go under the singing bridge!! I have a small window on top of the tide when I can't get out, but you can't beat the price for dockage.
