Here is Old Muds' solution, Adjustable and tiltable so you can see your baits. Can you say Hardcore.

Maybe he'll chime in.

Boats Suck
Pat: just think, you could shoot through, see fish and look under your'e deck at the same time LOL. Sorry I had to do that . I think your better off with the transom mt. I dont know if you can get a side scan shoot through. that would be more engineering than I want to think about.

Those wonderfull pics. that bryan found Just show what you can make. I have a 600 watt si-tex and by tipping the front up of the ducer. (by tipping handle on top) to about 15 degrees I can sound bottom/fish in 100 fathoms at 25 kts. Not a true depth tipped up but I can mark FISH.

The pic. on the swim platform shows aluminum top, SS tube, ducer bracket and ducer. Cable down the ctr. of tube works the ducer. Face of the ducer is on the same plane as the flat part of the handle. The whole unit slips into that hole you see. snaps into brackets , one set up on port one on stbd. Look in any direction at any angle up to 45 degrees.

I think what you might find happening is that you will get a fuzzy bottom readout when underway if you mount them too close together. I had mine mounted by my idiot boat dealer and they put it right in line with the extruded keels on my hull. as soon as the boat picked up speed I would loose the bottom and depth readout. I have since moved it and i get a much clearer readout while underway.
