Ok heres the Deal ive been posting my saga of my Mercury engine issues and ive used the Startron additive and waited a day or so then started the Boat up where he's the Deal i start the Boat Mon and it runs and idles for sometime without dying at all it ran for a Good 10min and then i shut it done, i go out Thur @ 0345 from Clinton with My Eeels and Bunker headed for SW Reef the Boat starts but quickly stalls i start again it runs idles then stall again it starts again and stall im now in the Clinton Marina trying to get the thing going and it runs but quickly dies when i throttle up it get past Cedar Island the whole time starting and stalling Lucky for me i had My Vector battery Jumper as with all the start stall crap anyway the Damn thing wont idle in the Water !!! I need help im going Fn nuts with this , Oh yeah let me add the Icing on the Cake, i load the Boat back on the Trailer chuck the Eels and Bunker at the Docked (Pissed off of course),  i get Home to Durham ( still Dark) and realize i left my Jumper Booster on the Town Dock i unload the Trailer and drive back to Clinton like a Bat out of Hell only to find it Gone My Loss is someones Gain , im looking for Help is there a reasonable place to Bring this to as im spent dicking around with is it Possible that my Impeller is shot as the Prop was spinning wildly when i was running motor on the Trailer with Rabbit ears flushing the Motor 2 days before my start stall fiasco Thur am and i havent even tried to run it again im soooh frustrated please any help would be Great otherwise this Season is done for me | ||

| Marine gereral they are in new haven on south water st 933 3208 kathy will answe the phone. John is her husband . he works on the boats he is very good and very reasonable. all he does is mercs He is the only I have ever had work on my optimax

ok i just got out of work 16hrs and im messing with the engine i pull off what looks like a Plastic Fuel Filter i know the Gas runs thru this but im not if it filters it im gonna try and replace it | ||

| Do you have a water seperator on the fuel line anywhere? If you do you need to take it off and dump it in a container ( coffee can or similar) Replace it and pump the ball Now check the stuff in the can if there's water in it it will be on the bottom of the can.If you dont have a seperator it would be a good idea to install one. | ||

| i changed my Water separator/Fuel filter WOW did it look disgusting, as for Air Filter i dont think i have one, i got it running a little but its still stalling i was spraying carb cleaner into it while it was sputtering and it ran longer so it seems to be starving for Fuel and its not getting it!!!! i put some More StarTron in and ill give it a day off ( My Neighbors too as it can be loud)to try again, FYI the Fuel/Water separator unit had to removed off the boat in order for my to get the Filter part off it did NOT come off easily!!!!!! | Guys i took my Boat out with my 9yr old in a Freshwater lake 5min from my House as i didn't wish to have my 2nd Start/Stall again in the Ocean and after i few stalls the Thing ran Great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, once again i think all of the input from this site as the Fuel/Water separator the StarTron additives were all mentioned from this site Thanks again!!!!!  | ||

I always carry two spare water sep. filters and a empty glass pickle jar to pour the old fuel into so you can see the water .You will prob. have to empty it again soon if you had water in it. you dont' have to change the filter everytime if all you are getting is water. Just empty and fill with clean fuel. Did you change the fuel lines?????  | ||

Now that our gas has ethanol in it you need to replace the fuel lines to upgrade for this fuel change. You might not have a problem now but somewhere down the road the lines will breakdown and clog filters and carbs or fuel injectors.
