| Westbrook Marinas? Just curious if anyone has any favorite (fishing type) marinas in Westbrook. I was anchored up on the wall in Clinton/Westbrook last weekend - Clinton harbor was a scene from The Deadliest Catch and Westbrook was nice and calm. (Strong west wind.) Most likely will stay in Clinton but some days I feel that the move over to Westbrook would be nice for rough weather fishing and easy night fishing. Coming into Clinton harbor on a dark night is also a hoot (thank god for chart plotters.) Jack |

| Jack, Depending on whether you want to go up past rte1 there is Wetmore's and Dick's just past the bridge. And what you said only counts with west wind, east wind and it's the reverse. Be careful going in/out of the channel into Clinton harbor past #6 and #8. The sand washed further into the channel last storm and a friend I was with, hit bottom 10' inside the nun(less than 18" of water there now). Hopefully this year, they'll dredge?!?!?!

| Clinton Harbor Funny (not at the time) Clinton story. About 8 years back I was taking a buddies new to him boat into Clinton harbor. Outgoing tide, cranking north wind he wanted me to take the wheel. (this was an I/O) They CG pulled CAN 8 out of the water (which I did not realize). I ended up putting a heavy boat onto the sand on a strong outgoing tide. I jumped over to push the boat off but it was not going anywhere. So I ended up being wet on a cold sunday in Oct - ended up spending the entire day on the sand. At the bottom of the tide the boat was TOTALLY out of the water. We ended up getting off the sand at dark - beached around 11:00 AM - home at 6:00 PM. A couple from Cedar Island came out with soft drinks for us - quote "Third boat this weekend". The only good point was the boat was fine. |

| At all costs avoid Louis Marine just north of Wetmores. Shallow waters and an open bay makes it interesting when the wind is blowing and the current there can be tricky, no sheltered slips at all. Service there is was no good at all, however they did hire new help this summer. sorry to bash but thats it IMO |
