| For a nice digital color unit, Raymarine has a model or 2 that will be around or below $600. Jim's got one on Boney and it works awesome. For price of fishfinders, and any other color units for that matter, LOL, it really comes down to size...... Bigger Screen = Bigger $$$$ (there are wattage differences sometimes, etc, but it mostly comes down to size).

| raymarine makes nice units, they've really closed the gap w/furuno over the past few years...but i still think the furuno machines are the best sounders you can buy. the fcv620L is just north of your budget, but definitely worth the extra bucks. if you take good care of it then it will last forever, if not then it will still last a long time. i have the last gen 600L and it is great, i am always amazed at the detail i get. | ||

| Byownerelectronics currently has the 620 on sale for 643. He also will match any/all prices. Note: Price does not include the transducer. Not sure if you already have one. There are some deals available for used and new 600, which is the older version of this year's 620. If I was better this year, Santa would bring me a 620 and I'd give you a great deal on my 600 ;)

| That's the price I saw before too Bob but now it says $677.....anyway lol......I thought it was W/O the 'ducer, you confirmed it... The 'ducer can run you some coin too, for a quality thru-hull. FCV585 - $1,130.00 Furuno 1KW Thru-Hull 'Ducer - $325.00 Total = $1,455.00 FCV620 - $677.00 Furuno 1KW Thru-Hull 'Ducer - $325.00 Total = $1,002.00 RAYMARINE DS600X w/Thru-Hull 'Ducer - $971.00 RAYMARINE DS500X w/Thru-Hull 'Ducer - $699.00 Now, using a Transom Mount 'Ducer will save you some coin.........if that's what you want (the transom mount). The Raymarines are ~$200 less with the TM 'Ducers. The Furunos TM 'Ducers cost ~$65. Confused yet? LOL

| You would have to find out what model transducer you have already and see if compatable to the new unit you buy,In some cases its the same transducer .I checked and most of the funaro's have an 8 pin plug seems they should work Here's a link to some funaro's with prices http://www.topline-fish-finders.com/fufifi.html | ||

| Raymarine DSX400 I got now ... leetle, but works great. Looking to possibly go redundant in the spring when I put in the radar...we'll see, but I like the Raymarine's. | ||

| I think I remember the new Furunos saying they are 10-pin now......when I was looking at the Transducers listed under each the 620 and 585.
