| Question on transducer Looks like im going to be buying the hummingbird 997 c2 SI. My question is can I run 2 transducers next to each other. I do not want to take my old unit off the boat. I will not be using my old unit but I want to keep it on the boat due to I will be buying a larger boat within the next year or 2 and the hummingbird will be coming with me.

| I am not totally sure but I think it depends on the MGhz of the Transducer, basically the frequency it transmits on.

| Bryan Im not looking to run both of them at the same time. I was more worried about cavation. I want to mount it about 2 inch on the side of the transducer thats there now. or can it be mounted on the other side of the bracket next to the speed paddle wheel in the picture you can just about see the old transducer

| I have run three transducers next to each other without many problems. You have to know how water flows the area of interest. If you are not going to tyr to use both at the same question than all you need to do is make sure the transducer is in a clean water area and that there will be minimal distrubance on one caused buythe other. - I ran two Interphase forward looking/downlooking next to a LEI Skimmer ducer and they worked fine.

| Have you given any thought to a thru-hull or shoot-thru-hull transducer? Especially if you're going to be taking it with you and shoot thru may be the way to go. Another thought is most transom mounts are designed to tip up if they hit something. you may be able to tip up the one not in use if you have two on the transom.... just thinking out loud here.

| I'd give airmar's site a look and see if they have listed some for that unit. I forgot it was sidescan. Worth a look to see what airmar has though. Usually a few options there.
