Jay...save the date...I'll pick you up!

Lu (or anyone) need any wood? I can call Will and see if he can have some ready. I'm shipping some AYC to Jigman tomorrow. Will asked if I wanted to try some primary growth cedar... This stuff is probably the best wood to use for plug building...it's also outstanding for furniture and water tanks...is outrageously expensive. Someone ordered a few PALLETS of shingles and Will said that there would be some chunks left over!!! CAN'T WAIT. He said it's wet as hell, but dries fast as a shingle...I'll probably have to wait 4 or 5 weeks for 2 X 2 pieces to dry...like I've got anything else to do!!!

Armand...I guarantee you'll love the cypress once you try it. AYC is actually a type of cypress. However, the Southern cypress, much out of Florida, has none of the strong odors of AYC and I think that the second growth floats as good if not better. The primary growth stuff is just another thing. When it comes out of the swamps after years of being submerged it's just as soggy as you can imagine...but when it dries it's just about waterproof and is another high floater. The wood is darker in color. It's the wood that was used to make water tanks that were so familiar around Northern RI in some towns and at all of the old mills. I wish that I knew that when the old tank in Forestdale, RI was being knocked down. Most of the wood was just stacked and burned or carted off to ????. If I can get my hands on some I?ll save you a piece.
Jay, I?m calling Will at the mill, LOL that sounds funny, as soon as I?m off line. I?ll ask about the shingles. Just shipped Jigman in Kentucky 25 two-foot lengths of AYC. He can?t get the stuff anywhere near him.
