Don't forget I was standing up and was struck on top of the head and driven into the ground like a tent peg. My spine took the full impact also. I was unable to use my right arm for awhile and now it goes numb just using a mouse or tying flies. One of my discs is sticking about 1/3 the way into my spinal column and is deflecting the spinal cord. I have scar tissue on the spinal cord itself and there isn't enough room for the nerves that control my right arm between the discs. There's more stuff that I can't remember also.

Used to be strong like Bull, now weak like girl.

I was in my early 30's when it started to hurt. I was just shy of 54 when I went down! That was 7 years ago! I'm very lucky. They told me I'd never walk again

Thanks I appreciate that.
It has been a long 7 years. I have progressed as far as I'm going to go. I have to go to the gym atleast 5 days a week just to keep my brain recognizing the various muscles required to walk half way decent.
Everything I went through could have been avoided if my doctors had just asked for an MRI of my neck. I was always complaining of the pain but everyone thought it was the way I was sleeping.
So whenever I hear of someone with neck pain and numbness in the arm/hand area I get nervous.

Uh ohh!!!

Put the boat in yesterday in Westport for some joy riding with the wife.
Don't know what I did as the seas weren't all that bad but woke up at midnight with a massive pain in my neck on the right side. Headache of migraine proportions from the neck to my right eye and tingling in my right hand Pain behind my shoulder blade too.... Huge spasm....

This just plain sucks!!!! Took a Vicodin during the night and some naproxen this morning and it seems to be letting up.

Never fails.... just when ya think things are looking up

On a better note.... got several fish yesterday on my plugs. Nothing big though.... Nice to catch on your own stuff. 1st time I ever fished them outside the test pond out back. Bluefish too.... damn teeth!

Looks like I'll be drinking beer poolside for the next few days.... Hope I didn't make things worse in my neck.

Jay, Ihear ya!
It was determined that my neck injury came from my riding snowmobiles. BAck when I was younger I rode almost every day during the winter. On weekends we were in the White Mountains traveling 40 mile one way for a beer at some Inn. The contant bobbing of my head while wearing that heavy helmet. A couple spills where my head folded under me on impact
If you continue to have problems let me know. I'll come take that boat so you don't get hurt!
