You definitely need a stiff rod and a big reel to toss these monsters.
I use the rods I initially set up for 8 & bait.

Fishing the larger lures can be tiring.

The sinking swimmers I am working on run from 7 ounces to over 10 oz....

Got to be pretty serious about chasing trophy sized fish to set up and go after them with this stuff.

These are all over 8" but aren't quite as heavy as the sinkers mentioned above. These here run between 3 and 4 1/2 oz.

Armand has the right answer.... The consumer of course

As for which fish species...... This one right here:

You should see them swim... Just barely under the surface like an alewife feeding on plankton. Hmmmm... I should daisey chain these suckers into a whole school

These 4 "B's" (B?) stand for Big Bass Big Bait

Some of these were caught on a popper similar to what's on your desk.

These are what got me interested in making these lures.

Just saying.

The first person I showed my lure to was Armand and I mentioned that perhaps the tuna guys may be interested in it.
Mine are not poppers though. The cupped face acts just like a metal lip and gets this thing swimming real nice. Nice tail wag and no roll....

I'm working on a larger version, a jointed version and one that's a sinker too....

Certainly will be able to troll them but casting them was my objective.

I've got a spook that is very similar too....

Do you think I should work on a popper as well?

I want to stick to larger than normal stuff. Big baits, big bass........... or tuna or whatever

I've got a "few" waiting for paint
