Thumbs up Nice work, wood!!

You certainly have a talent......I would have to have two of each, one to fish and one to display.

guys, you know that when winter rolls around there seems to be more time available to experiment with new things plug-wise. paint schemes seem to be the "it" thing right now. scales, pearls, multiple and exotic colors, etc. also, there are more and more builders coming out with their wares and sometimes you need to go the extra step to catch a fisherman as well as a fish. there are many guys who buy plugs just for their paint and never fish those particular plugs, they just hang 'em on a wall. and still others buy these customs, fish the daylights out of them and catch tons of fish. it's all in what you like, but whether it's an all black needle or a triple color danny with scales you're gonna catch fish. my .02.

All of you guys impress me. Keep 'em coming. I like all of the colors - with or without scales, etc. When speaking of your artistic abilities, I look at the woodworking ability being just as important as the painting ability. If you know how to shape the wood part of the project ... it's just a matter of time before you develop your painting skills. Keep up the good work. Bob

Your right Earl. Just look at how many old beat up plugs with hardly any paint at all left on them still catch fish.

Can't say I've ever seen a bad plug made by anyone...except maybe ME. Oh boy, do I have some beauties in my basement. When I started this madness it was broom and rake handles filed into some God awful shapes. They were then just rattle can spray painted with whatever I had on hand. Sealing, priming, epoxying??? What's THAT all about? Best thing was is that those ugly ducklings, as bad as they looked, caught fish. After one day of use the next time they were cliped to a line they REALLY LOOKED LIKE HELL...but still caught fish. I actually laugh to myself when I sit and ponder what I can do to improve the catching ability of a plug. Is it paint? Is it flash? Is it shape? Or maybe it's action. Then I look at those old beat up broom and rake handles and say "Screw it, I'll make a bunch more of those because I TRUST them to catch fish." Thus the following getting ready for epoxy. They "ain't" exotic, but can you guess what catches more fish for me than anything else?
I've got an idea. I'll take some pics and start a CRAPPY LOOKING PLUG THREAD. I bet I'd win a contest. BTW Daryl your plugs are sweet!

Guys:

New here on the board and I see some nice work.

Here's one of mine with a scale pattern:

I don't worry about my plugs catching fisherman because I give all my plugs away to guys who catch fish:
