Holes are to what you refer huh?

I was using pins in the old one that grabbed the belly hook hole. It worked but I also had it clamped. One operation is very high in torque and I fear the dowel will get ripped out during the cut.

I might take a large block of maple and bore a hole to accept the whole dowel with just the area being cut exposed. A slot in the block slicing the hole with a screw could act as a clamp......
