Hi Armand, Don't know if this matters, but I note that most of the jigs rigged with assist hooks have a split ring attached to the nose loop and then have a solid ring attached to which the assist cord is secured. From your pictures it looks like you are going direct to the nose loop . . . like I said I don't know if it matters. As I was shoveling snow on Friday, Saturday, Sunday I didn't have time to ask you this - Have you actually cast these lures yet? It occurs to me that on a cast the hooks are going to run dangerously close to your running line. I wonder what the incidence of the hooks fouling the running line might be? Maybe a stiffer assist cord like the ones found here might help: Angler's Pro Shop best, Bill

| Bill, I have the assist hooks connected to a welded ring. The welded ring is inside the nose loop of the lure itself. here is a better pic of that: ![]() The welded ring is where the assist hooks are and the loop on the left is the center rod of the lure. As far as casting these I've done plenty of it with the regular needles but these haven't been used yet. This configuration is common with the buttlerfly jigs which get casted and I'm sure there would be the occasional hook wrap but it shouldn't be any worst than on the butterfly jigs since the lures are rear weighted. Thanks very much. It's a new idea with assist hooks. I'm the first one to use them on plugs. | |||
