Fishing has been great at VA Beach, for stripers. Big fish are returning to the Ches Bay, season opens April 21---can't wait!!!

It's that time of year where everyone is getting excited to wet a line.
Water here still in the 30s
Not much longer though.
Hope to launch boat within a week or two and it seems like a year away.

I am more of a TUNA guy than a Rock Fish guy, but we usually spend April and May fishing Rock and making sure the Boat is ready to start making Tuna runs in late May. So, pardon my ignorance and set me straight; I thought the stripers were on the upper bay flats around now getting ready to spawn (waiting for the right temperture). Then, there is a two to three week long mass exit of the upper Bay (April). If that is true true then, they are late or skipping the bay. Someone wana provide some migration details?
