Thanks for the welcome y'all, seems like a good site. I will let you know.............................................. ..................................just kidding! My main interest when in Destin is trolling for Kings and Spanish and also fishing the bridge and some of the closer in [until I get a better boat] wrecks and artificial reefs. It may not sound like much to most of you, but I purposely spent the last two days of my Destin trip trying to get into some larger Spadefish. I got into them and man, what a brawler of a fish. I used to catch little ones [hand sized] when I was a kid and they fought like crazy and ate really well too. The average size that I was catching down there on the last day was about 2 - 2.5 lbs. I was using 14 lb Fireline with a 20 lb florocarbon leader. I had put a 30" Red in the boat the day before with this rig, and that was in amongst the bridge pilings. After breaking off three times in a row I had to switch up to my 30 lb Power Pro with a 40 lb mono leader AND the drag almost maxed out just to get and keep the Spadefish out of the pilings. They don't have the staying power of some fish but for the first 20-30 seconds of the fight I honestly believe that they could pull a 6-8 lb Redfish backwards. I caught 13 or so and actually quit fishing even though I still had 2-3 shrimp left because my rod arm was worn out!

| Hey there welcome aboard. It's not so strange to have Arkansas on here, I've actually had some lure orders out to there LOL. Armand | ||
