It's funny you should bring this up, I have done lots of fishing with my son Tyler, but have not been eager to take him offshore. This year will be his first year and this trip to Fla will be his first trip" OffShore" that he will be making with me. I fish standup and do not have a fighting chair in my boat so its always been a dillema when dealing with smaller anglers and heavy drag settings. One of the items that I use for saftey is Zak's saftey knife that I bought @ Meltons Tackle and was just teaching Tyler how to use it the other day. I planned on using my Braid Power Play harness;it allows him to sit down and put pressure on the fish but it does not have a "D" ring on the back, and secure the whole rig by the rod clamp ring but really was not sure. The Angler saver may be the answer, I'm going to look into it. Thanks for the tip

| We fish stand up 100%. I use the alutecnos belt and harness (same as the powerplay, which I used to use, but the alutecnose belt is 200% better becuase the rod cant slip out it goes in a gimball) I needed something safe for him so I got the angler saver. I got the adult size as it adjusted down to his size even though it says it starts at a 33 waist. He is a 26-27 and it fits snug. They make a bucket harness as well but i think this one is safer. here is the link http://www.matesaver.com/html/anglrsavr.html here is a pic of it with a custom saftey teather attched Enjoy the trip | ||
