Usergroups are a way in which forums/bulletin boards can lump members into a defined sub-group, for permission and/or communication purposes.

The vast bulk (99.9%) of any board is made up by the User Group = Registered Users. The rest are Admin (me) defined.

If we had "private" forums that only certain members could get into, it would be controlled by public groups (user groups which are viewable by other members).

It would kind of be like how Wiley does it on "The Hull Truth". Buy a wheel, get more permissions. Granted, I could do that with a private forum and pay based group promotions...but I won't get into the back end babble.
