Alrighty i am new and here is my introduction to all of you, my name is chris, and i have been fishing for all of 20 years since i was a wee little fat kid, started commercial fishing 12 years ago, loved it and hated it at the same time, but did it for 6 years off and on, hey money good, have worked for numerous charter boats from portsmouth to glouster, never worked further south then that, live and fish out of newburyport mass, mainly fish for strippers, cod's, wolf's, tuna's, and off course the sharks!! For strippers i have fished commercially also using a rod and reel, last year got one monster over 50 lbs, the biggest being 56lbs two years ago, best accomplishment was a 39lb on 6 lb test fresh water rod and reel, took me an hour and a six pack to get her in, so long enough!! Cod, have two at 49 lbs, trying to break fifty pounds haven't yet, but sometime in my life i will!!!!!!!!! Wolf i have caught one over 30lbs, but plenty of the little wipper snappers, the clingers as i call them!! Tuna's caught two over 500lbs, one at 520lbs and the largest at 590lbs, and too many to count undersize, but at least a great fight! Then sharks, mako at 145 lbs, went back to its home, blue dogs plenty around 100 to 200 lbs, caught one thresher we released on the side of the boat, and damn those things are ugly as hell, and then everyones favorite, spiny dogfish, millions and counting, haha!! Also plenty of pollocks in the 30's, hate when they are double headers like that, cause they never want to go in the same direction!! Also caught a 30lb monk fish when i was a kid fishing for blues!! Even have one custom jigging telephone pole, but hey it works, wack um hard!! alrighty enough about me, fish on!! pics i have the one down below, i have old school pics not on computer yet i broke!!

these were some of the fish, don't have too many more i have at my apartment, oh well, but the cod was a dainty 49 1/2 lbs, and none of these fish were under 15lbs, the tuna was a puppy in the 100's but hey its a tuna!!

Hi my name is Steve and my son is Ian. Our home base is Mattituck Inlet on the North Fork of Long Island. Our new used boat is a 25 ft. inboard Sportcraft. We also kayack fish and surf fish. Spring finds us in the back bays and canal at Shinecock chasing the weakfish. Summer is on our boat fluking, bassing and chasing blues in Long Island sound. Every full moon finds us fishing on the party boat Sea Otter in Montauk for nightime bass. Fall is split between blackfish and surf fishing both forks of the island. July 4th is spent on Lake Wallenpaupak in PA. or Cayuga in upstate NY. We have Salmon fished on Lake Ontario and small mouth bassed on the Niagra river. Once had the charter from HELL in VA. beach.

All that being said some of the best fishing we have ever had has been with Capt. Dave and Capt. Curt on board the Relentless. These are two of the nicest guys you could ever meet. (Even though they are Boston fans). You'll both get my threapy bills for turning Ian into a Patriots fan.

Hopefully Capt. Curt can post some pics for us here, since I'm computer illeterate and Ian's not home.

New (Jersey) Guy

I've been fishing the waters in and around NJ all my life. Like the NBS site and find it true to its name. Keep it up.

Love blackfishing and have never been to RI or anywhere north of NJ to fish for them. Would welcome the chance to come up and catch a few this fall.

The picture is a 15lb tog that I caught a few miles off the Jersey Coast back in January 01.

Peace.

Demonfish, welcome to you and your son. Capt. Dave and Capt. Curt are just a few of the great guys we have here on NBS. Hope to see you out there this summer in CC bay.

Nastysnag, welcome, and good luck with the drawing. That is a BIG toggie, for sure, a real bulldog.

Wow, this really is a great community. I've poke around, and usually lurk in the board shadows, but this is too hard to resist. I fish out of plymouth, Ma. My main species has been striped bass on a slow troll, but recently I got into bluefin. Still learning the advancd art of actually cathing on a regular basis, but enjoy the presence of whales, and sunshine, so if you ever see a sea ray laguna 21 with a blue top on the bank, give me a shout!
