Headed out this morning with Lew, Rob and Mario for a try at some early blackfishing. We were pretty sure that the fluke would not cooperate, so we headed south and Anchored up on one of NJ's many wrecks. We started getting good tog hits right away and we landed several fish up to 8 lbs. Since the limit is still only one per man until November, we quickly limited out. It was a real slow pick after the initial drop and we caught a few more tog and about 11 keeper seabass. We attempted a few drifts for fluke, but only got about five more small seabass. I just felt lucky to catch a couple of blackfish again. You forget how strong these fish are!! I got one 8 lbs and another around 7 lbs and they just stripped drag off of my reel several times. Fall is a coming!!
