Another COD Tag returned

I got tag info on a codfish that we tagged aboard Relentless on 6/18/05 the fish was 19 1/2 inches it was recaptured 702 days later 42 NM away on 5/21/07 by the "Yellow Bird" the fish was now 24 inches .

if you go to the site below you can enter the tag #a010128 and track the fish.

Very cool Curt! Good that you got a return too. Despite tagging multiple marlin, sails, tuna, shark, stripers, and even bluefish, I'm still waiting for my first return.

I caught a tagged cod about 4 years ago east of the bank. Turns out it didn't move too far in the 12 months since it was tagged. The most remarkable thing this fish did was morph from a pollack (as originally reported) into a codfish! I didn't know they could do that. It was a boat from Green Harbor too that tagged this fish -- but not relentless -- I know you guys know the difference!

We caught a tagged blue shark during the OB tournament. That fish was tagged a little more than one year earlier off Shinnecock.

Weather permitting, I'll be out tomorrow hoping to deploy the last of my tuna tags on some willing participants.
