Anyone caught a tagged codfish???

The 5 year report came out for the Northeast Regional Cod tagging program. www.codresearch.org/news & Updates.htm

They are asking for any anglers rec. or comm. to fill out a questionnaire if you have caught a tagged codfish or tagged any codfish it only takes a min. NE Regional Cod Tagging Program - Tag return questionnaire "THIS LINK IS WORKING NOW"

Although most of the tagging is done they are still looking for returns so double check your codfish for yellow tags or even better blue ones $$$ and record all info.

?????

Ronnie

I would go to the link and fill out the form and see what happens
Regional Cod Tagging Program - Tag return questionnaire

A few of the questions are about the rewards and there is also a comment area where you could mention not getting anything back.

I've never caught a tagged fish, but I know two others who have and neither of them got their "rewards".

I think tagging programs are a great idea and would gladly turn them in if I came across one. I've played around with the tagging maps and it's really amazing to see how these fish move and their growth rates. I don't need an award to do the right thing. It's important to th fishery. I tend to think anyone who caught one would. Nobody is gonna catch a fish with a tag and say "hell I'm not gonna turn it in becasue I don't get a prize". But it's disingenuous to offer things to people you have no intent on making good on and in the end THAT may stop people from participating just becasue they are pissed off at being lied to.
