Atlantic Star Giant Seabass

Atlantic Star 1/31

My friend Eben and went down to Wild Wood to fish on the Atlantic Star. I started jigging using a 6oz diamond jig and got 3 keepers and switched to bait and started to do a number on the bigger seabass. Eben got 1 on the jig and went to bait. He got one that was 22inches. After letting some line out on the anchor I hooked up to a 24inch seabass that went 7 pounds. This reset put a lot of fish into the boat in the bigger size range. We made a short move and I went back to jigs and got 9 more fish on jigs then one on bait. Eben hooked up toward the end of the day to a hefty 25inch seabass that weighed 7pounds 11oz back at the dock. The biggest seabass that I have ever seen. Eben and I both had our limits. A lot of nice fish were landed and a great time was had for all. Defiantly some monster seabass out there.

Hey Chris,

I figured you'd post up, with pictures, and save me some time.

I too was on this trip, and it was a fantastic day with a great group of guys. I had a tough morning, getting hung up on the same snag, losing 5 jigs on the first drop. After a rough start I turned it on for the rest of the day, and had my limit, on both jigs and bait. My big fish was around 6 pounds, and came on an 8 ounce Pt. Jude(old school) that Pt. Jude Joe had left over at his shop.

Nice fishing with you again Chris, it was alot of fun. The boat was really nice and comfortable, watched a couple of great movies on the way in too.
