Fishcounterbob and I joined up with two other buddies and Captain Ronnie met at 4:30am out of Green Harbor for a Black Hull Charter. Foggy day and a fast drift, but in the end, but it was lock and load cod. Limited out with a throw back ratio of 5-1. Very productive day, even trolled a little as we encountered some tuna on the way to a haddock drop. Had 3 swings and misses on a black bar setup, but no luck. Hooked 2-3 bass to 35 inches, Also had one huge sculpin, two haddock and one pollack all on jigs (bait pulled up the dogfish). Nothing big, largest maybe in lower teens. Biggest encounter was with a commercial boat with auto pilot on in the heavy fog - Ronnie moved the boat with about 10 seconds before it hit us with his outrigger boom just missing Ronnie's antennas. Reported to coast guard, only to have the commercial guy chime in saying he was aware of us and changed course 2 times (BS). Much too close for comfort.
Thanks to capt ronnie for meeting us early, keeping us out late, and allowing us to drift given the number of reset required.
