Chicken of the Sea Report 5-18-08

Went out Sunday with my friends Kevin "Chick" Farrell and Tom Moona. Started out slow on the SW Corner of the bank. After a long drift we located some nice keeper size cod. Had to pick through the shorts. Fish were hitting in 110-100 feet of water. Some real nice size haddock were also mixed in. Both bait and jigs were working all day. The bite dropped off around around 10am so we moved north about 3.5 nm to the middle of the bank. It was loaded with whales and tons of bait. Talked briefly to Capt Curt and found some fish on a nice short drift. The fish in this area were a little bit bigger and almost all of them keepers (cod). Then we moved way east off the bank and hammered the pollock for a solid 45 min till we had enough. SW wind comming across Cape Cod bay made the ride home long and wet. All in all a good day (wish I hadd My camera)

22 Cod
11 Haddock
17 Pollock
1 Wolfie
1 PO'd Bride
---------------
1 Good Sunday

That's a real nice trip. Agood number of fish for 3 guys, and I can't imagine the shorts you must have tossed bacl, considering the way it has been so far this year. Great report, keep'em coming.

How big were the Pollock? I haven't caught them on the bank in 10 years.............

Use to fish a hole where we nailed monsters............

The bride will get over it

She cooked me a mean baked cod with the ritz cracker crumbs on top so I'll let her hang put for a while.
Camera was left in the truck

AlloyToy the Pollock were about 7-9 lb average. Had a couple big ones mixed in. Great fight though. We had to pick through alot of short cod had about 4 double headers of shorts.
