I have wanted to make a trip to Coxes Ledge for a couple of years and have enough fluke frozen for this year and the weather looked great for Wednesday, so I left Mystic at 4:30 A.M. First stop was an attempt to find a wreck at 41-05.307/71-10.269 but was unsuccessful. Then a move south to the Mussels area at the southwest corner and found it was stocked with high fliers. Looked near the fliers and found a 5 ft high bump at 41-01.934/71-10.782 and drifted using salted clam bait till the tide slowed and the bergal and 1 doggie showed up. Total catch for me was 7 shorts to near 20 in. and 2 keepers at about 8 lbs. There were 2 other boats working the same area and looked to be doing the same. The mileage is about 43 miles each way but well worth the trip. | ||
