Cox's Ledge

Took a party of four down to cox's ledge on Saturday. The dogfish really aren't that bad down there right now. Lots of short cod, but they did manage to put about two dozen fish in the box. Biggest fish were about ten pounds.

Saw four or five draggers along with about the same number of sport boats out around the 825 line. I'm sure they were on the tuna and I later found out that one of the sport boats did catch one about 170 pounds on a floater they scooped up off the water. Other than that didn't see any tuna the rest of the day. A couple of boats chunking in the mud hole looked like they were bored silly.
All of the fish came on bait. No one wanted to try jigging. Another boat fishing nearby ( a friend of mine from Montauk) did jig up some fish.

I have another cod charter a week from this coming Friday, weather permitting. I'll report back when that one is done.
