Eastman's 6/5-6/6

My dad, Eben and I went up to Eastman's for a couple days, We went out Thursday on the all day boat with 47 other people. It was cold windy, rainy and a little sloppy. We started fishing only after a short ride from the dock. It was a one stop day. It started off slow then turned into a good pick of haddock with a few, very few cod thrown in. All fish were caught on bait. It was a very good day for the 3 of us. We had our cooler filled to the max with Haddock and Cod. Eben got 9 haddock for the day. I got 14 haddock and a cod and My dad was the high hook between us and got easily 20 haddock and 2 cod. There were 2 very nice cod that came up one was 44pounds caught in the stern the other was 43lbs caught right next to my dad.

Friday we had a Marathon charter and we went back to where we left the haddock on Thursday. While fishing here I had 4 haddock and my dad got 2 haddock. We didn't stay here because some people got a little discouraged by the slow fishing and the little rain so Phil moved. What we really needed was those people to keep their lines in the water to help get those hungry haddock going but Phil didn't want to wait to get then going. So we moved to look for some cod and we did find them along with some more haddock. I put a 14oz lav on and a green fly and hooked up after a few bounces. Turns out to be a 7pound haddock. It is my biggest haddock of the season so far. I got a couple shorts then a nice cod of like 12pounds. Things slowed down so Phil mad a move and it turned out to be a really good spot for the stern as they put a good number of 20-25pound fish in the boat including a couple 30's. I hooked up into a decent fish but lost it after a few turns of the handle. Pool fish was caught near my dad which was a really fat 36pound cod. I ended up with 5 haddock and 7 cod and my dad got around 10 haddock and 5 cod. It was a good day to be on the water. We had a great time and look forward to going again soon.
