I was wondering what bottomfishing guys liked for hooks. What do you think are the best for baitfishing for cod and haddock and rigging your own dropper rigs .I like to buy my hooks in the 100 pack and have used a few differnt Mustads in the 6-8 range.I just wondered if I'm missing anything . Head boat hooks, these guys must go through a bunch

We have used octopus style hooks in size 6/0 for cod, haddock, pollock and cusk tied with droppers or using crossline swivels with success. I use sharp right out of the box Gamakatsu style 02416 and Eagle Claw L226BLK. You can get the Gama hooks in red if you prefer. These hooks have a turned up eye which makes it easier to snell. I get my Gamakatsu hooks in a 24 pack from Shark River Mail order (SRMO) for under 7 bucks. These hooks are SHARP.
