Lot's of Wolfies Today

On Saturday I finally got to head offshore for some fishing after the Northeast Storm that sat offshore resulted in three cancellations. Fishing with us was Clyde Thomas and his core of friends who all work at the Coast Guard yard in Baltimore, MD. The Coast Guard yard is a commercial type shipyard which employees over 500 shipfitters, welders, carpenters, painters, etc who conduct repair work on Coast Guard vessels and at times actually build the boats. They built over 300 41' utility boats that are still in service today along with the modern 49' buoy boat that some are familiar with.

After steaming east of Stellwagen on a day with little wind and a NE swell, we stopped in about 175' of water and using jigs and bait landed a mixed bag of cod, haddock and suprisingly five wolffish with the largest one being around 22 LBS. The numbers of cod were a little low and the haddock surely made up for the lack of cod fish in the area. Most of the haddock were landed on fresh sea clams however this group landed several on jigs.

Later in the day we headed to Race Point to try to get a few stripers for the grill and landed one keeper along with several bluefish. Unfortunately we arrived at slack tide and the fish just were not in an eating mood. After arriving at the dock after our mate Jim filleted the day's catch Clyde booked another trip aboard RELENTLESS.

In the next two days we will be gearing up for the great bluefin bite that is now taking place on Stellwagen Bank and also be conducting some more shared charters for cod fishing along with tuna. If anyone is interested in a tuna or cod trip, shared or private, please send us an e-mail to ensure you get a great date.

Happy Fathers Day to all of the Dad's GrandFathers, Step Fathers and Father figures out there. You all deserve a pat on the back as anyone can be a father but it takes a lot of work to be a great dad and I know many out there from NBS and you should be proud of yourselves.

Calm Water

Seeker,

I saw your boat at Taylors Point and it certainly is one sweet looking machine. On Saturday we had a little heave on but there was no wind at all making it for a great day on the water. I will be headed out groundfishing on Friday and Saturday. Sunday and Monday are bass trips and will post reports after the trips.

Hopefully we can find the tuna on Thursday also and decent cod, haddock and bass.

Thanks,
