When does stellwagon open up for cod again? I usually will travel up that way for better fishing rather than stick it out locally.

Good Morning, The Stellwagen Bank Cod Season opens on 1 April due to regulations placed on recreational fisherman a few years ago. April and May are great months on the bank because the cod and haddock are often in water as shallow as 90' making it for fast action. The ride is shorter to the bank and there are days that the cod are actually driving up the sand lance and the gannets are all over them dive bombing on the bait from 100' up. Believe it or not, we are already getting calls for charters for next season and have started putting trips together. It is a blast and I want this weather to go away so we can get back out there come April. Merry Christmas and have a great weekend. Respectfully, Dave

Jim, So we don't have all of the good dates filled, how about picking one as soon as possible. We can pencil it in now for later. How about Sunday, May 4th or the 18th. Both dates should be excellent on the shallow water during that time. Last year during the first week of may we did outstanding on the haddock and some nice cod. Dave

| Either is good from my view. Jim, what do you think? I say just pick 5/4 and be done with it, only to wait out this cold snowy crapola. | ||

We also caught the tail end of a wide open haddock bite that Seaker was also a part of. the whale show was pretty cool as well. Dave is capt curt going to be with you again this year? | Yes, on my boat 80# braid on 113's, Jigs from 9 oz.-21oz., and do bait fish on occasion. We have better luck with bait for haddock.......
