Best of luck to those who venture out, just be safe and catch them up. Be sure to post up some reports when you get back to the docks.

Sounds good. Anyone else who wants to gather for a safer ride let me know. I'll have at least one other boat with me

Day was So-So. Started out looking at plying the inshore humps near GH. Headed out to the old H buoy. Water was pretty sloppy from 7:30 to 10. Then it laid down. Conferred with my buddy boat and decided to head to the bank. Out there in 20 minutes. Bank was a ghost town. no boats, no fish ANYWHERE . I worked around the BE north and south. Decided to head east and try some deeper water. Worked everything from 225'-300' all over the southern end. Nothing for hours over the course of all my usual haunts. Finally a bit further north in about 225' we got some slow action. Between the two boats a few haddock and a few keeper cod in VERY tight groupings. Dropped a fair number good fighters. Shame on us... Then just before we were about to leave the seas turned nasty and I hooked up on my prize for the day. In truth my rod was in a holder with my jig on the bottom while I prepared the boat for the trip home. Wham.. Nice 25lb'er

So that was the day. All in all not a productive day in terms of volume of fish, but I now know the waters are about 38 degrees on the surface out there and there are no fish to speak of actually ON the bank, at least from the middle bank south. TONs of whales and dolphins and the birds were insane both east and west of the bank, but nothing worth noting ON the bank.

Cod were coughing up sand eels

That's about it. I can't say I am looking forward to any more 3 hours trips home in pounding seas.. It was manageable but not fun.

Cod were on jigs, haddock were on clams...
