Inert?

Jim,

I have a question for you. Depending on the location of the welding on a boat like this, do you have to inert the fuel tank and get it certiied by a gas free engineer? This is something the CG required for work in house?

Dave

Looks good Jim Can you move it 1/16th inward and change the color to powder blue

Capt. Dave, there is a warning sticker on the boat about fumes but I don't recall what it says...........

Perhaps Jay will have some input.......

Looks good! Different from ours with that in-slope - probably more functional...

Welding on a boat w/ gas in the tank...

As John mentioned we put a warning sticker on the boat (per NMMA) to completely vent the underdeck area before starting any welding. The tank is separate from the hull (the hull plating is not the tank).

jay, thanks for the good feedback..venting is an issue..but. i can not vent every boat. i have fumes sometimes in the shop. very minescule. but a catch a whiff walking by some of the boats. with over 300/400 builds a year, with boats in the shop..tig welding arc is about the size of a tic tac.very fine..no sparks..im still here...thank god....
