Thumbs up New Top is Done

My new top is done and the boat is back home again. I had it made by a guy in Ct. His name is Jim, . He did a pretty good job. He added a few more rod holders on the back of the leaning post too. Check it out.

www.arctekmarine.com if you need any stuff made.

Thanks ArctekJim

The best part of this top is that it is made for the boat. It is not some off the shelf thing stuck on there. If you compare the look, quality, options of a custom top with an off the shelf it doesn't even compare. Sure you could plop a top on there for the cheap but start adding rod holders, lights, any color canvas you want, wiring through the pipe, etc and your price is about the same with the off the shelf units. The off the shelf will never look like it is made for the boat. It simply looks like it was made for every boat. I don't think they can weld rod holders on my leaning post from New Jersey or whereever they are either.

I sent a picture to a guy at work here who told me I was crazy to put a T-top on my boat because it would get in the way fishing and he couldn't believe how it looked. He said if fit the hull shape perfectly.

Eric: It should be slipped at H-dock Allen's Harbor in a few weeks if you want to check it out up close.

Looks good on your boat! You'll like all those extra rod holders too.
People who say you can't fish with a t-top installed usually don't own one and never tried it.

I'll have to check her out.......

Inheritance is down at Point Judith right now getting a 1000W thru-hull installed for the new Furuno 585

Then she gets a bit of diesel work (losing a slight amount of antifreeze...... expansion tank, loose hose we couldn't locate, hot water tank, or even head gasket........best left to the experts )

Then when she's done I've got to run her up to Allen Harbor. We'll be all the way to the south, last dock, outside slip on the end. Not sure what dock that is LOL.

The top looks great and I like the additional rodholders on the leaning post. Right now my boat is at the same place getting a small top /radar arch made and I can't wait to get it back. I agree that custom tops are the way to go as many of the standard tops from Atlantic, Smith etc. are just too big and are of a generic design.
Lots of luck with it.................ED
