Flounderpounder, sorry but I got carried away. Why don't you put a picture of your boat on an index card and post it on a West Marine bulletin board. This is a freebie that most stores do. All they ask is you put a date on it, since every once in while, they clean up and pull down old ads. There is no problem in changing the date should it not sell right away. Right now there is not a lot of traffic in boating stores because it is off season, however, in a couple of months, your ad just might get some interest, and it will not cost you a dime.

thanks for the heads up about the west marine board. i just got out of a 6 year relationship with one hell of a bitch whore and no longer have internet at my residence. that will make it difficult to reply to any online responses quickly. I will try to poke my head in from time to time when I visit my folks . to anyone reading this, tight lines and good luck out there this spring fishing. like I said, i will only be online from time to time so if anyone is interested in the boat just call my cell.

Flounderpounder, now that you are back on the web, my friend just sold his small ride using: www.craigslist.org
in just one day. I have never used them myself, but I am going to give them a try with a 50 gallon fish tank just to see how it works out. Watch out for scams though, as I was surprised to learn some dirt bags are pushing phony cashiers checks and money orders. Banks will accept them initially, but if and when they bounce, the bank will demand payment and you are just out of luck.

Flounderpounder,
I have done right well with Craigslist. I did not sell my leaky fish tank, but sold the stand it was on. I had a 93 Troy built roto tiller that I was asking $1125 for and it sold 20 minutes after I put the ad up for $1075. I am still somewhat green in using it, but it seems to me that something that is too large to be reasonably shipped, then Craigslist gets to the local people. With ebay, there is a fee schedule (very reasonable) but their coverage is so enormous that you could end up with a potential buyer in West Palm Beach but the shipping charges could kill the deal. So far, Craigslists has not asked me for any fees. I have read their agreement and there are fees mentioned, but the agreement was so convoluted and complicated for me to read I still do not know for sure if they are going to want something or not. I just junked my 94 Escort, so I put the shop manuals up on Craigslist. Perhaps I am pushing things too far, but so far I have not put anything up on the web that either all of it sold or part of it sold. Now is the time when you should move your boat. I think with the price of fuel going through the roof, a modest ride like yours should be in demand. If you miss the spring window, then things can get tough. Wish you luck, but get as much exposure as possible and do it now!
