Abu Garcia Big Game Reels

Does anyone have any experience with either the Abu Garcia 7000 HSN or the 1000 HSN Big Game Reels? The HSN is the narrow version of the standard big game reel. I'm interested in adding this reel into the arsenal for bass fishing.

I have a 7000 c3 that works great. BTW charkbait.com has just the reel you are looking for in its weekly specials at $96.

Thanks finsup. That's actually why I was asking. I had run across them the other day at Charkbait and thought that they were a reel good deal. I just wasn't sure on the narrow vs. the standard reel piece.

I have a few of the 7000's. I have used them for the last 5 or 6 years with no problems at all. I do not have any of the narrow ones so i can not comment on those. The 10,000 might be a little overkill for bass depending what you are going to do with it.

I don't know anything about those reels, but as far as Charkbait.com goes I placed an order a couple of weeks ago. After 1 week and no confirmation about my order be shipped I called and found it had not been sent yet, "they were still waiting to put it together" I told them that it had been a week and they needed to ship it that day or I wanted to cancle my order. Well they shipped it that day minus 5 tuna clones, 2 jet heads. I am still waiting to get these items and they have become unrepsonsive to any emails. Even though they agreed the items were not shipped with the initial order. Not trying to bad mouth them just letting you know about my experience with them.

This was my first time placing an order with them and most likely my last. just my .02

Actually, Mike only has the 9000 left. I picked up the 7000 BigGame on Friday. I used it fishing eels at the Race on Saturday morning. $90 for that reel... I feel like I stole from him. Mike if your reading this... pissa reel. I got a 42" and a 39" and had a blast.

I've got the 10000CT Big game and I love it. I've used it for jigging cod even and it performs great.

I ended up buying the new Abu 7000iHSN from Mike at Cape Cod Tackle. Great price and great service. Ordered the reel online late Thursday night and it was at my door Saturday! Can't wait to use it.

I use a couple of the ABU 7000 lever drags for tarpon. Great drag system on these reels.
