Berkley Gorilla

Has anyone tried this line? I saw it marked down this week at Walmart .50# & 80# 300yd spools for $15.I thought of trying it on either the spinning rod or the tog rod.The 80# I think will be good for stripers .Whats anybody think?
Thanks ,Chuck

I use the gorilla braid 50# on my Avet JX 6.0 for codfishing. I albright in a 25' top shot of 80 pound big game mono. The stuff is decent, round shape, nice diameter, and price is great compared to power pro.

I saw the suff to and am interested in it. Does it hold a knot as crappy as other braids. Don't get me wrong I love braids and will not go back to mono for bottom fishing but you need to pay attention when tying. I guess that is true regardless. I was just wondering.

Bryan ,I just tied 2 albrights with the 50# gorilla to a 60# berkley leader and the knots look fine.I pulled on them with 2 sticks and the knot held without a problem.

Bryan, We always use an albright knot. Make sure you're putting plenty of turns on it when using braid. I use 15 minimum and have never had the knot fail. 50lb and 30lb braid to 50lb leader.
