Old Fenwick Surf Rods???

I have 2 Fenwick PS105 10.5' 27oz 3-6oz Lures 15-30lb Line w/ Varmac LW3 reel seats. My dad fished these growing up and I have been using them over the years. I have not fished from the beach recently and wondering if they have any value. Definitely have gotten some use over the years and caught a lot of fish. I have yet to find a rod that can cast like they do. They were top of the line went he bought/made them. I am figuring back in the 70's?? Any thoughts? May be going on ebay...

fenwick

Early 70's sounds about right. I still have two and they get heavy use. Too heavy to sling eels with, though.
Back in the day I think I paid around $200 each. I had the large Quick reel on one and the largest penn on the other. See both in a sand spikes in South County anytime after Labor Day.

Hi,

Several years ago I restored a fiberglas surf rod for a friend. It was a Fenwick which had caught tons of fish. So what if the tip had a curve to port! After the restoration it still caught fish.

Fenwick made great blanks and when they stopped selling blanks it was a great loss to us. You can still buy a Fenwick fishing rod. I believe I saw them for sale in a Cabellas catalog.

Did someone purchase the name? I don't know. Names are purchased as like SABRE has been several times.

Neil
