There are reels are very good that is made in Asia. For instance, Shimano...Even Avet parts are from that side of the world. I believe that if a reel is good and perform well, who care where it is made, but I will stay away from anything from China. I have tried the Zelina, and I can tell you what a pos.....

LOL no offense, but it's getting harder and harder to say that when my "local" tackle shop is selling Yozuri squid jigs (for example) for $10. BECAUSE THEY ARE RIGHT OFF THE HIGHWAY AND THE ASIANS BUY THEM BY THE 100'S OF DOLLARS WORTH AT A TIME. I guess I can't blame them for their prices, they have a "market"........but not MY market.

Talking Red Pig Fishing Reels

Bought 4 80 wide reels from Red Pig....

I have to say I was surprised at the quality.

Paid 499.99 each at their website [link removed]

I own Shimano Tiagra`s and Penn Internationals......The quality of the Red Pig is just as good as both....

Tight Lines....

Last edited by Possum; 06-18-2008 at 10:58 PM. Reason: Removed Link to Red Pig Site (as that only helps their exposure)

Any pictures of you using them in action?

Not to be an ass here, but your post is VERY similar to a few I have found on other boards, from a member with no to low post counts, and they are always in hard defense of these reels. Why is that? Below are prime examples from swordfishingcentral.com

Oh yeah, I think this answers the integrity and quality questions.

..and looky looky, nearly the same exact post on yet another forum today:

I think I can say that he is busted. I am sure that he is associated with Red Pig in some ways.

As I say before, I have no problem with any products is made outside of the USA, but it needs to be proved by some creditable person.
