| The books that helped me the most were both written by Dale Clemens, Fiberglass rodmaking andadvanced custom rod building. I built my first rod about 10 years ago and have built about a dozen rods since....I am by no means an expert, in fact about the only thing I can tell you about the whole process is that it will try your patience a bit to learn how to build one, but the end result is more than worth the while if you are interested in it enough to follow through. My first rod was a nine foot one piece spinner that I built to throw tin in the 2-3 ounce range....it works perfectly to this day and I am more than a little attached to it. I have also built a few "concept" rods that didn't work so great, lessons learned. I have gone a little nuts with it latley, I built two rods last week and I might start a third tonight if my wife doesn't quit bugging me to clean up my mess...A! |

| A friend of mine does classes, Wickford Rodworks and his number is 401-667-7363. He runs the classes at gis shop in Wickford RI and I know he has classes coming up, they last a month and meet once a week. I built an 11 footer last year. Nice to have something that you made to fish with . |
