| Stupid (reel) Question Let say I have a AvetSX5.1:1. What exactly does the 5.1:1 mean ? I have always thought you had to turn the handle 5.1 times to get a certain quanity of line back onto the reel. Is that correct ? What is the quantity of line 1ft, 1m, 1y ? Are all reels rated under the same system ?

| For every ONE complete revolution of the handle, the spool will rotate 5.1 times. That is a pretty fast reel, good for jigging. Hope that helps.

What Bryan said - the amount of line payed out is relative to the amount of line on your spool (thus the diameter of the spindle) f you have a 5:1 that's a really fast reel, and with a big fish it is a muscle burner.... |

| "stupid reel question" all my reels are stupid....everytime I have a problem with one of them, I say "stupid reel".

| Bob, I have the same problem but in the end I usually realize I am stupid & the reel is fine.
