| This is my forte'. The best reel you could buy period for that type of use is an accurate 665 2 speed. Its small, lightweight holds 400+ of 80lb braid and has 35 lbs of drag and great freespool. in the $500 range but worth every single penny of it | ||

| Im sure you will find there is no better reel fitting that description in that size range. It is perfect and I don't say that much the only thing it could use is lug nuts. The only better reel out there IMHO is the shimano stella spinning reel, 10000 or 20000 size. 66 lbs of drag, 400 yards of 80 braid and easy to cast and jig with. Its amazing and my favorite non big game reel | ||

| I only jig now with a spinning reel, that isnt a reflection of my accurate. Its just what i am comfortable with. I dont like chunking with a spinner so then i use the accurate. Stella is tops | ||

Hard to beat the Accurates. For shorter money, I am looking at the Penn Torques. Another interesting option for a great price is the Penn 113HN Baja Special. It looks a little old school, but it can be had for $150 on special. Maybe not in the same league, but certainly worth a look if you are trying to keep the $$ down. | |||

| I couldn't make up my mind between the Accurate 665 and the Stella 10000 so I bought both. Can't wait for next season to start.

| take a look at either the Penn 16vsx awesome reel i love my, or check out the accurate 665 2 speed which i also have they are both very sweet reels. i use the Penn 16vsx for regular jigging, and my accurate 665 2speed for Japanese style jigging. If you are going to be using the reel for both jigging/chunking go for the 16vsx. Blake Conlin tightlinzzzzzzz
